Sorrow's Sermon
Today I live in a world that loves Tomorrow I’ll live in a dream that hopes Yesterday, I lived in a soul that sighed Yesterday- the day all hope died. Changing emotions, Transforming thoughts: Carried away in a tear aloft. Yesterday held its veil of burden on me, Veil, so thick, the sun I could not see. I woke today; to see the ray And all my sorrows had vanished away. But too late, yesterday had said goodbye And even today, in a world that laughs I wonder why… Yesterday’s sighs couldn’t have been smiles: The unhappiness had stretched on for miles. So now, I hope Now, I learn And though I still for yesterday yearn, It couldn’t be helped It can’t be changed But now I can face tomorrow’s rain.
