Where are You? There's heaviness upon my soul Swallowing my zeal up whole This thickness neither drowns nor buoys Does not snuff out, but dims my joy. I've tried a run, managed a wade Thought, reflected, almost prayed. I've cried out loud, deep in my mind Stifled, smothered, bound in time To suffer this- carry a Cross Grieve what's missing, but never lost. Where are You? Reached out- or did I? I'm unsure I feel most nothing anymore. I've held to my notions Go through the motions And hoping, still hoping A door- a window opens. Face smiling, heart bleeding, soul pleading this passes I push through each day's sea of molasses Longing, still longing to 'Taste and see' More to life than the bittersweet. Where You've been: Someday soon, the sun will dawn Delight will swell where now I mourn I'll see glee, feel thrill, hear wonder My cup half-full yet running over I'll seek beyond...
