SEEKING GOD

I sought God on earth So I went to the flowers To whom sunshine gave birth; To petals, with an array of colours. I sought God on land So I went to the beach To see the creatures in the sand, And wonder Who gave shells to each. I sought God in water So I went to the fish Whose graceful, floating saunter Is every man’s wish. I sought God in flowing rivers So I went to a brook And saw water reflecting light in shimmers, Till all my breath it took. I sought God in the heavens So I looked above And I was taught by the ravens The beauty of motherly love. I sought God in the sky So I went to the birds And they taught me to fly, Singing a song that never ends. I sought God in nature So I looked everywhere. In each and every feature, I saw God there. I sought God, and I found The sobering discovery that: In all my looking round, I forgot to seek Him in my heart.

MESSAGE IN THE BREEZE I & II

MESSAGE IN THE BREEZE I The mourners at the other side, Racked with tears but dressed in white; Kneel before the large, gold cross- Before the tomb, and on the moss. Their human eyes can’t see beyond; Can’t see the two gazing them upon. One with large wings and a golden harp, The other with a sad smile- the departed chap. The latter stretches an arm wistfully, Wishing to relieve them of their agony; But alas, he can only hope they believe on the Cross; For his time is up, though with no loss. The angel gives a gentle nod: It’s time to go on to his Lord. He blows them one last gentle kiss: To them, it was just another breeze. MESSAGE IN THE BREEZE II The mourners at the other side Tremble with shock and grief and fright. A sorrowful picture of uncertainty, They reel at death so untimely. They wonder where their loved one is: They dream of clouds and harps and bliss. They can’t see the two over yonder; Can’t hear the desperate cries getting louder. They sing h...

FRIENDS

Friends will always be there, Even when you don’t want them to. Friends will give you love and care, They know exactly what to do. Friends know just when to get out of your hair, And let you just be you. Friends, to find, are so rare; You’d be lucky to have two. Friends will always be fair, And tell you when the fault’s from you. Friends will give you courage when you’d never dare: And in times of trouble will stay true. Friends will be the comfort that dim a nightmare- The very thoughts that lift your mood. Friends are the people you wish you were Because they bring out the best in you. Friends will easily mend a tear Whether in clothes or a heart that’s blue. Friends will sympathize when all is drear In good times, their laughter will soothe.

WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS

Let God fill your soul with goodness Goodness is what you need inside: Not beautiful clothes, which fray and tear; Not tons of friends, who listen with half an ear; Not a flashy car, which will soon get outmoded; Not acres of land, which will end up eroded; Goodness is what you need inside. Not a credit card, which will eventually run out; Not a doctorate degree, in what you know nothing about; Not a five-star lifestyle, which will soon get tiring; Not that electrical gadget, which will soon need new wiring; Goodness is what you need inside. Not that million dollar cream, which will rather give you wrinkles; Not the praise of human beings, which comes only in sprinkles; Not that Rolex or Cartier in the fashion mag; Not a Gucci, Chanel or Givenchy tag; Goodness is what you need inside. Whatever you hope for, you should know this: If you ask selfishly, you ask amiss. Forget anger, envy, hatred and pride: Goodness, my friend, is what you need inside.

THE MAN I LOVE

It’s a forever kind of thing; This love of which I sing. How could I have fallen so deep; Without knowing it- I must have been asleep. It surprises me sometimes The way He always fills my mind. I think about Him everyday With all my heart, every step of the way. He’s the reason I smile: His love is worth the while. He’s brought a spring to my step, My feelings gone to a new depth. I never miss Him, cause He’s always with me: Right here in my heart: that’s where He’ll be. He says I’m His treasure. His Words give me such pleasure. He’s the one I always want to talk to As I’m madly in love with Him, He’s crazy about me too. He said He’d take me to the skies; I believe Him- He never lies. See, He does all the things no man’s done before: He gives me inner peace and much, much more. He has all the time in the world for me; He’s never too hassled or too busy. He’s kind and gentle- He’s so sensitive; He helps, he encourages- He makes me think positive. When I call on...
