WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS

Let God fill your soul with goodness
Goodness is what you need inside:
Not beautiful clothes, which fray and tear;
Not tons of friends, who listen with half an ear;
Not a flashy car, which will soon get outmoded;
Not acres of land, which will end up eroded;
Goodness is what you need inside.
Not a credit card, which will eventually run out;
Not a doctorate degree, in what you know nothing about;
Not a five-star lifestyle, which will soon get tiring;
Not that electrical gadget, which will soon need new wiring;
Goodness is what you need inside.
Not that million dollar cream, which will rather give you wrinkles;
Not the praise of human beings, which comes only in sprinkles;
Not that Rolex or Cartier in the fashion mag;
Not a Gucci, Chanel or Givenchy tag;
Goodness is what you need inside.
Whatever you hope for, you should know this:
If you ask selfishly, you ask amiss.
Forget anger, envy, hatred and pride:
Goodness, my friend, is what you need inside.
