Happy Valentine's
I won’t be getting a card this year; Not chocolates, a poem or flowers, I fear; But I still can’t shake the excitement in my head And nothing will stop me from wearing my red. No romantic note, anonymous or not; No one calling on 15th because they forgot; Not much to swoon or brag about; I’ll still don my crimson and go out. All the radio shows I can’t call in The dinners for two I can’t possibly win. There’ll be no romantic getaway But I’ll still celebrate Valentine’s Day. A love story unfolds each day I grow Without cupid’s arrow or bow. It’s why I don’t need a sweet boyfriend Or a caring husband to understand: Val’s Day’s mine as much as any couple’s It’s Jesus’ love makes each day special.
