LET ME DREAM

If you won’t be the wind in my sails
Then, by all means, let me fly.
If you can’t see me shooting to space
Then leave me to reach for the sky.

I have dreams
I have hope
I have faith
I have goals

Please don’t pull me down
Into your stifling ‘safety’
You may be content on the ground
But I was born to span the sea.

I cannot be you
You cannot be me
I can’t have it all; it’s true
But I can always dream.

You can have my time
You can have my tears
You can strip me of every dime
But I will dream no less.

If you cannot picture my vision;
If you lack the imagination;
Let me live life as I deem.
Do not wake me; let me dream.
